Standing Orders and Financial Regulations

The Parish Council must operate under certain procedures which are defined by legislation.  These procedures are set out in the Council's Standing Orders and Financial Regulations.  These have been adopted by the Parish Council and can be downloaded by clicking the links to the right of the page.

Code of Conduct

When Councillors become Councillors they must sign a declaration of acceptance of office which includes an undertaking to adhere to the Code of Conduct.  The Parish Council at the meeting of 14th May 2007 resolved to adopt the new Model Code of Conduct for Parish and Town Councils (Local Authorities (Model Code of Conduct) Order 2007) including paragraph 12(2) thereof, effective immediately and that the principles set out in the Relevant Authorities (General Principles) Order 2001 are adopted as an annex to the adopted Code of Conduct.  Copies of the new Code of Conduct can be inspected by contacting the Clerk to the Council or by downloading it by clicking the link to the right of this page.

Any complaints regarding the conduct of Councillors should be made in writing and addressed to Mathew Buckley, Monitoring Officer, East Riding of Yorkshire Council, County Hall, Beverley, East Riding of Yorkshire, HU17 9BA or emailed to standards@eastriding.gov.uk.  Complaint forms are available but the complaint must detail the contact details of the person making the complaint, the name of the person being complained about, which Council they are a member of and a description of the conduct complained of.

The protocol for the way the Parish Council deals with notifications of complaints from the Standards Committee has been adopted in accordance with advice from the Standards Board and the Local Councils Association and can be accessed to the right of the page.
